John Suh

John Suh is CEO of LegalZoom.com, America’s leading provider of legal documents. LegalZoom seeks to re-shape the legal industry through innovative, affordable, legal solutions for small businesses and families. Over half a million customers have trusted LegalZoom with their legal needs, ranging from incorporations to patents to last wills. The company aims to become the first meaningful brand in the legal industry. John transitioned from Executive Chairman to CEO in 2007, shortly after closing a Series D financing with Polaris, a $3B private equity fund.

John is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in the Internet space. Most recently, he served as CEO of StudioDirect, the Internet division of $6B global supply chain leader, Li and Fung. Within 48 hours of John presenting to over 100 analysts, $250M was raised to assist StudioDirect in targeting the small business segment. As co-founder and CEO of Castling Group, he took a leading role in helping offline companies create their Internet divisions, launching category leaders such as jcrew.com, hifi.com, and giftcertificates.com. Early in his career, John was a consultant with L.E.K. Consulting where he advised companies on both strategic and M&A engagements within the healthcare, entertainment, and telecommunication industries.

John is a local Southern Californian, who grew up in Pasadena and returned to LA after suffering years of East Coast bad weather. He is an avid golfer, loves a good hole-in-the-wall place to eat, and travels frequently through Asia, South America, and Italy.

John was a 2007 NetKAL Fellow at the University of Southern California’s School of Social Work. John received a B.A. in Organizational Behavior and Public Policy from Harvard College and received his MBA with high distinction at Harvard Business School, graduating as a George F. Baker Scholar. During college, John served as Co-Chair for KASCON IV in Boston.
