Thomas Kim

Thomas S. Kim chairs Scribe Strategies & Advisors' Asia Practice, with a focus on foreign government relations advisory, trade and investment promotion and business development consulting with specialized expertise in the Republic of Korea. Prior to joining Scribe, Thomas was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Silver Method, LLC, a Northern Virginia based P.R. and web development company.  While at the helm of Silver Method, he transformed the company into one of the region's leading web technology services firms with a diverse client base that included Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations. A frequent speaker on entrepreneurship, he was widely profiled from CNN Business Radio to The Washington Post.

Before entering the private sector, Thomas began his career first as a graduate student fellow working on foreign policy issues on Capitol Hill and then as a Special Assistant to the General Counsel in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative during the Clinton Administration. While at USTR, he acted as a personal liaison between the General Counsel and attorneys responsible for legal issues related to U.S. trade policy and the negotiation and enforcement of agreements. Mr. Kim also assisted on The White House China Permanent and Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) Working Group effort and on global e-commerce tax-related issues.

As for his non-profit sector commitments, Thomas is on the Board of Directors of The Mirae Foundation, Inc. based in New York and is also an advisor to several Korean American associations.  He holds a B.A. with honors from The Johns Hopkins University where he majored in International Relations (also where he was Executive Director of KASCON XI) and an M.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service where he concentrated in U.S. Foreign Policy and Diplomacy.  Thomas currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia with his wife, Nancy, and their son, Thomas Jr.
